We’re Doing The Kiltwalk – Join Us!
Africa on the Ball Trustees are doing the Dundee Kiltwalk in August to raise funds for our work in Zambia and are asking you to join us!
Setting off from the stunning and world famous surroundings of the St Andrews Old Course and taking in some iconic sites on the way, our brand new 2017 route was one of our favourite ever Kiltwalks and we can’t wait to do it all over again!
There are three walk routes you can choose from, each varying in difficulty.
Mighty Striders set off from stunning St Andrews and cross the iconic Old Course and head onto the Links past the famous Old Course Hotel and then on to the Fife Coastal Path. Walkers then arrive at their first chance to have a break and take in the scenery at Pit Stop 1, opposite the old Eden Mill.
The picturesque coastal path continues through Leuchars on minor roads before entering the Tentsmuir National Reserve, where Pit Stop 2 can be found at the beach car park.
The route carries on north and moves through the forest as we make our way towards Tayport, where the Big Strollers join the fun at Pit Stop 3.
Next stop, a chance for some fantastic photographs at Pit Stop 4, found at The Tay Bridge Kiosk in Newport on Tay.
Then it’s over the bridge and into Dundee itself, where the Wee Wanders join the party!
With all of our walkers now taking Big Steps, the route heads towards the docks where Pit Stop 5 is located.
We then head back to the shore, following the Tay to our last Pit Stop at the magnificent Broughty Castle.
Finally its a gentle jaunt to the finish line at Monifieth Beach where a hot meal, a few drinks and a night of entertainment will be waiting on all of our walkers.
